Research Infrastructure for University Faculty
A secure, reliable, and scalable in-house server infrastructure for the Faculty of Health Sciences at Busitema University.
Building Research Infrastructure from Scratch
Busitema University, Faculty of Health Sciences initiated a research project that required a secure, reliable, and scalable in-house server infrastructure. The objective was to host multiple data collection applications and implement a robust file-sharing system to facilitate collaboration and dissemination of research findings among stakeholders.
The Verton team was engaged to design, procure, deploy, and operationalize a fully functional on-premises server environment tailored to the research requirements. The solution encompassed hardware procurement, infrastructure setup, software deployment, and user capacity building.
What We Achieved
The result is a robust research infrastructure that now supports multiple ongoing research projects with excellent uptime and security. We procured a server and supporting equipment and setup ODK Central, Kobo Toolbox, RedCap and NextCloud (for file sharing)
